The X-ray diffraction pattern reveals that the pure phase of BaZn 1−x Eu x V 2 O 7 is obtained by the calcination of as prepared sample at 700 °C for three hours. In order to analyse the crystal structure and correct phase information, we carried out the Rietveld refinement of the sample as-prepared, calcined at 600 °C and 700 °C using the “MAUD” program for the Reitveld refinement.The structures of BaZn(CO 3)F 2 and BaMn(CO 3)F 2 can be described from [BaO 6 F 6] and [MO 3 F 2] (M=Zn, Mn) polyhedra and from CO 2− 3 triangular entities (Fig. 1).
