Nope, need a cutting weapon to cut tails. Hammer is very good for bonking monsters and knocking them out, but alas cannot cut tails. Almost any weapon can do KO damage now, meanwhile hammer can't do cutting damage. Sad unga bunga noises. Capcom please, atleast make a silkbind attack with cutting damage. Constitution is nice is your stamina depletes a lot. Partbreaker is also great for breaking parts. For all 3, HH is about the best mix you can get objectively between them healing, buffing you, and stunning the opponent.
