My understanding is with the 24-valves (and newer) that extra mounting bosses were added further ahead on the block, but the old positions are still there too. Based on a local C30 truck with a 6BT/727 swap, and my own C30 frame...The 6.5 engines use an electric fuel pump so there is no need for the mechanical/diaphram unit that the older 6.2 units have. The 6.5TD engines simply have a hose barb connected to a block off plate that covers the hole. The pistons in a 6.5 are a little tougher than the 6.2 pistons.I dont think the frame would be strong enough and the rear end would have to be swapped.
