While I was replacing the boot, I also decided to swap out the tie rod and wheel hub. This was fairly uneventful, but afterwards, the power steering pump was whining like there was a bunch of air in the system. I performed the engine off bleed procedure until no bubbles were appearing in the fluid reservoir.• Install the helm adapter into the helm pump and attach the helm hose from the power purge unit. • Connect one of the fluid return hoses (cylinder lines) from the Power Purge unit to the reservoir bleed fitting on the SeaStar Autopilot pump (see figure 9 on page 17 for bleed fitting location). • Open reservoir bleed fitting 1 turn.Many different ways and variations of bleeding the system as per my research. Seems like it actually is worst after it's been driven awhile. Nothing leaking to the outside so apparently something internal is failing.Flush out the system when installing new pump.
