2020 nissan altima door locks not working
I recently bought a 2010 Nissan Altima 2.5S from my girlfriends sister. Her sister owned the car for 5 years and about a 1.5 years ago the automatic door locks stopped working. The unlock/lock button doesn't work on the driver or passenger side and they don't work using the key fob.Maybe the safety lock broke or created connection issues, possibly even allowing dirt and rust to accumulate. There is a gear that drives the heater door via the cable from the knob. This gear pops off and gets stuck in the wrong position in relation to the gear on the cable that drives it. You need to buy a very expensive glue and glue it back on.
The actuators quit due to grease making parts drag, commonly they have to swing easily to hit internal limit switches and with no grease the limit switch is not in contact to work. Today's actuators are really considered throwaway items but they can easily be fixed if you know how.Here's what it is...you'll need to replace the two actuator cables to the door lock mechanism (like bicycle brake cables). They aren't very expensive, maybe $20/pair, but you do have to take the inside door finisher off and likely the interior plate (that the window regulator bolts to) to get at the thing. Not fun at -20.

No. If the hard switches inside the car don't work, then something else is wrong (could be additional, maybe not). The switch console in the drivers door is known to have issues (mine was replaced years ago), but typically you get window AND lock problems.
